Feeling the Anticipation

I don’t know about you, but my patience is wearing thin—I can feel the fruits of our labor just beneath the surface. Each day brings us closer, and the anticipation is real.

It’s been a wild few weeks on the farm! We’re deep in the heart of kidding season, caring for our bottle babies, and juggling the beautiful chaos of homeschooling—all while walking through the challenges of chronic illness with our daughter. As if that weren’t enough, the wind, late freezes, and wild Texas temps have kept us on our toes. We’ve been running full speed—getting our market garden off the ground, quite literally!

Exciting Developments in the Garden

As of now, if the weather continues to cooperate, we're looking at having produce ready by mid-May! The rutabaga, arugula, beets, lettuce, and radishes are all sprouting beautifully. It's a sight to behold! Even the zucchini and tomatoes are flowering, which means we're well on our way to a bountiful harvest.

In Other Garden News: Exciting Developments and Upcoming Insights

We're elated to announce that we finished our first field of 500 strawberry units, and they're doing beautifully! Additionally, we've planted 100 units of asparagus, cantaloupe, and watermelons. It's going to be a great season! Keep praying for good weather and an abundant harvest. I'm learning quickly that a farmer relies heavily on hard work and prayer, so keep them coming.

Teaser for Next Week's Post

Next week, we’ll dive into the fascinating world of biodynamic practices that we're implementing on the farm. Join us as we explore what these practices entail and how they contribute to sustainable agriculture. Stay tuned for insights that could transform your gardening approach!
