Spring has officially arrived at Saving Face Farm, bringing longer days and warmer afternoons. However, the weather has been less cooperative, with chilly nights causing us to stay on alert. Temperatures are expected to drop into the 30s over the next few nights, so we’re busy covering our tender transplants to keep them warm and safe.

A New Strawberry Field

This season, we’re thrilled to announce the addition of our new strawberry field! We recently planted 500 strawberry plants on the farm. About 250 of these are already in the ground, with the remaining plants scheduled for planting once this cold front passes.

Strawberries are resilient, but I must admit—I prefer to farm under sunny skies. The anticipation surrounding our strawberry plants is exhilarating. Each week, as we cultivate our orchard and berry fields, we watch our dreams of farm expansion unfold.

What’s Growing for Our CSA Members

For our fantastic CSA members, we want to share what’s currently sprouting in the fields:

  • Zucchini, corn, arugula, beets, and rutabaga have taken root, signaling that our hard work is yielding fruit as we delve deeper into spring.

  • Peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and squash are not only surviving but thriving, growing taller and stronger with each passing day. This growth reminds us of nature’s incredible resilience.

Our farming journey is about more than just crops; it’s a commitment to nurturing a sustainable ecosystem that benefits everyone in our community.

Hope for Warmer Days Ahead

As we look ahead, we are optimistic that this is the last cold snap of the season, paving the way for full production mode. The soil is rich with promise right now, and we're excited to bring fresh produce to your tables.

Each day reinforces the bond between our farm and the community we serve. Our passion for growing fresh, biodynamic food drives us, along with the love and support from our local community. We are committed to nurturing our crops with the knowledge that they contribute to the health and well-being of those around us.

Gratitude for Our Supportive Community

We want to express our heartfelt gratitude to our community for its unwavering support. Whether you are a CSA member, a local follower, or simply someone who shares our mission, your encouragement means the world to us.

Please continue to share our story—it is our goal to provide clean, biodynamic food that nourishes both body and soul. Together, let’s work toward a sustainable future, one seed at a time.

Looking Forward to Spring's Promise

As we tackle the unpredictable spring weather at Saving Face Farm, we stay committed to our goals for this season. Our new strawberry field, along with the vibrant crops developing in our fields, represents the exciting growth on our farm, and we can’t wait to share the fruits of our labor with you.

As the days warm up, we eagerly anticipate a flourishing vegetable lineup that reflects the heart of our farm. We appreciate your support on this journey; together, let’s celebrate spring and the endless possibilities it brings. Stay tuned for more updates as we cultivate the land and foster our community, one harvest at a time.
